About Mercedes-Benz

Mercedes-Benz is a leading automotive company founded in 1926 in Stuttgart, Germany. It started when one of the founders, Karl Benz, invented the first gasoline-powered car in 1886. But until 1926, it operated as Daimler-Benz as a division of Daimler AG.

Today, the company sells luxury cars, buses, coaches, and trucks around the world. In Africa, the company has its offices in East London, South Africa, and operates as Mercedes-Benz South Africa. The car company has plans to expand into other African regions in the near future.

Mercedes-Benz South Africa Bursary Programme 2024

Mercedes-Benz runs bursaries under the Mercedes-Benz Learning Academy. The academy was created to support local talent and skills in the Eastern Cape province. At the time of creation, it was the first non-racial institution in the South African automotive industry that was fully integrated.

The bursaries pay for the tuition cost and other expenses of students who are unable to afford education. Through the funding, the carmaker also increases the available talent pool in the country.

For the academic session 2023, here are the fields of study where the bursaries will be awarded:

  • Computer Engineering/ Information Technology/ Software Development etc.
