About the Learnership

Are you passionate about Beauty, Cosmetics, and Sales? Dis-Chem Pharmacies is offering a Retail Cosmetics Learnership (NQF 3) that equips you with hands-on training, retail exposure, and customer service skills to build a successful career in cosmetics sales.

This learnership will provide you with the knowledge and practical experience to effectively promote and sell Dis-Chem’s wide range of cosmetics and beauty products while delivering exceptional customer service.


Minimum Requirements

Essential:

  • Matric / Grade 12 qualification

  • Willingness to work retail hours (including weekends and public holidays)

  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Advantageous:

  • Previous retail or beauty industry experience


Key Responsibilities

Stock Control

  • Ensure shelves are stocked, products rotated, and expired/damaged stock removed.

  • Participate in stock counts and report shortages or discrepancies.

  • Maintain a neat, organised storeroom.

Merchandising

  • Maintain attractive displays in-store and window areas.

  • Correctly price and label goods, ensuring compliance with stock layout standards.

  • Conduct product demos, makeovers, and promotions to drive sales.

  • Assist with stock loading/unloading when required.

Customer Service

  • Provide friendly, professional assistance to customers.

  • Process payments at the Cosmetics POS.

  • Advise customers on product choices without forcing brand changes.

  • Resolve stock or product-related queries efficiently.

  • Knowledge of sales targets, promotions, and customer liaison

  • Strong English communication (oral & written)

  • Listening and interpersonal skills

  • Trustworthiness, honesty, and self-management

  • Basic financial and computer skills

  • Ability to understand and meet customer needs


Special Conditions of Employment

  • South African citizen

  • Clear criminal and credit record (MIE checks apply)

  • Must be willing to work flexi/retail hours, including weekends and holidays
