An excellent opportunity has become available to join a leader within the Construction Services industry, as a Senior Accountant. The role is based in the Centurion area.
Maintain the accounting records for the Company:
General accounting functions:
· Reconciliation of Financial accounts
· Analysing financial information for accuracy and completeness
· Assist in SARS and tax related matters – VAT, PAYE, IT ect
· Assisting departments with functions related to finance
o HR – BBEEE
o HR – EMP recons
o HR – Tax inquiries
o Housing, FCA, Management, Professionals – Invoicing and project reconciliation
· Assist with general knowledge base on accounting and tax related matters
· Prepares and reports on management accounts
· Prepare and analyse additional information and tasks as per management
Reporting to management on accounting information in order to assist in operational decisions
· Reporting on the different financial aspects of the company to management when needed to assist them in the decision making process
Assist in the preparation and performance of audit and other assurance services
· Prepare financial information to ensure smooth easy and cost effective audits
Prepare, review and make recommendations on the viabilities of credit applications
· Complete the financial portion of credit recommendations using client provided information and using professional judgement to evaluate the viability of the application
Asset tracking and maintenance as regarding financial implications
· Preparing and reconciling the company asset register
IT Register maintenance and liaising with IT support
· Maintaining the Software register to manage access and costs
· Liaising with IT support functions
General – Including parts of the payment cycle, project invoicing, and other as required
· Payment cycle:
o Loading payments as required
o Partially releasing and authorising of payments
· Project finance support to operations:
o Reconciling projects
o Ensuring project invoicing and subcontracting are agreed to Task order
o Invoicing and assisting project personnel in financial matters related to projects
· Any other general duties that would benefit from my knowledge base and skill.
Candidate Requirements
· Relevant accounting knowledge
· Good working knowledge of IFRS
· SAICA Articles
· Post Article Experience
· Highly proficient user of required software:
o Sage Evolution
o Microsoft office
o SAGE payroll
· Previous experience in a similar role
· Analytical and forecasting experience
