REQUIREMENTS : A appropriate three (3) year degree in labor relations, BCOM law, or LLB. a current driver's license Knowledge: Departmental policies and procedures, the Unemployment Insurance Act, the Basic Conditions of Employment Act, the Labor Relations Act, and the Skills Development Act. Contribution to Unemployment Insurance Act. Skills: Interviewing, problem-solving, facilitation, planning and organizing (own work), computer (spread sheets, Power Point, and word processing), interpersonal, verbal and written communication, analysis, and Employment Equity Act.



DUTIES : Conduct workplace inspections to make sure that all labor laws are being followed. Conduct investigations into alleged instances of labor law violations, and enforce where and when necessary. Conduct routine proactive (Blitz) inspections to check that labor laws are being followed. Organize advocacy efforts for the chosen and assigned labor laws. aid in the creation of inspection plans, reports, and data for assigned cases.
