Engineering Manager

Johannesburg – Hybrid (not fully remote)

What you will be doing:

• Managing a few “pods” of developers 

• Managing efficient delivery of engineering projects

• Collaboration between the engineering and product teams to assist with scoping and estimations of projects

• Scaling the engineering teams through strategic sourcing to hire top talent

• Mentoring, coaching and up-skilling engineers

• Facilitating career growth of the team

• Conducting performance reviews

• Taking accountability for the delivery of projects

Candidate Requirements

Ideal Candidate:

• 3+ years of experience managing an engineering team

• Technical background preferably with a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering

• Success in hiring great engineering talent

• Experience in performance management and the OKR framework

• Passionate about implementing, measuring and improving processes to optimise delivery

• Is passionate about people and growth

• Having worked for a company who builds a software product, preferably in a SaaS environment would be highly preferred but not an absolute requirement
