Job Summary
The Infrastructure Support Engineer is responsible for providing 2nd line Infrastructure support to ensure service level targets are achieved. The Infrastructure Support Engineer is responsible to monitor enterprise systems and infrastructure to ensure system uptime.

Job Description

  1. Provide 2nd line infrastructure support and participate in the incident, problem, change, request, and event management processes.

  2. Support enterprise systems and infrastructure to ensure system availability.

  3. Perform all End User Computing support functions.

  4. Produce reporting in a timely manner and aligned to the agreed communications plan for relevant stakeholders.

  5. Contribute to a continuous improvement plan and initiatives to support collaboration within the organisation.

  6. Effectively manage and develop self to deliver on agreed individual and team objectives.


Minimum Requirements

  • 3 year IT related degree (advantageous)

  • Certified in ITIL Foundation V3 (required)

  • Relevant technical certifications combined with 2 years experience in one or more of the following: network management, server infrastructure, and support, security, data centres, and storage, Active Directory, Exchange, printer, desktop, mobility, and telephony support

  • 2 years experience in a service/support portfolio and continuity management, including configuration, deployment, and release management

  • 3 years experience in infrastructure and enterprise systems support

  • Stakeholder management

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Knowledge of network management and support

  • Knowledge of server infrastructure and support

  • Knowledge of data centres and storage

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Enterprise Software, Active Directory, Exchange

  • Knowledge of backup administration

  • Knowledge of IT Service management principles and frameworks (ITIL V3)

  • Knowledge and application of relevant IT best practice (especially with regards to Service and Incident Management)

  • MS Office proficiency with advanced Excel and VISIO

  • In-depth knowledge of JD Group policies, practices, processes, and systems

  • Understanding of the JD Group and HR operating model and value chain
