ABOUT THE BURSARY PROVIDER – FOSKOR

Foskor was founded in 1951 by the Industrial Development Corporation with the aim of producing phosphates for South Africa's agricultural sector. Today, Foskor is the country's sole producer of phosphoric acid, phosphate ore, and granular fertiliser. The company focuses on phosphate rock mining and phosphate-based fertiliser production, with operations in Phalaborwa (Limpopo) and Richards Bay (KwaZulu-Natal).


ABOUT THE FOSKOR BURSARY PROGRAMME – FIELDS COVERED

Foskor invites students to apply for its bursary programme for the 2025 academic year. Bursaries will be awarded for Bachelor’s Degree studies within the following fields:

  • Electrical Engineering

  • Electronic Engineering

  • Law

  • Mechanical Engineering

  • Metallurgy

  • Mine Survey

  • Mining Engineering

The bursary is open to talented and deserving students of any race and gender.

Shortlisted candidates will be contacted by 28 February 2025. If you do not receive any feedback by this date, please consider your application unsuccessful.


ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE FOSKOR BURSARY

Applicants must meet the following minimum criteria before applying:

  • You must have completed Matric.

  • You must have achieved a minimum result of 60% for Mathematics and Science Higher Grade in Matric.

  • You must be studying full-time towards an undergraduate Bachelor’s Degree qualification in one of the fields listed above.

  • You must be studying at a recognised and accredited University in South Africa.

  • You must not be receiving any other bursary funding.


HOW TO APPLY FOR THE FOSKOR BURSARY

Students who meet the above criteria may apply via email to: bursariesphb@foskor.co.za
(Insert the words “FOSB2025” in the email subject line).

Note: There is no application form to be completed. Students need only submit the required documents below to apply.


Submit clear copies of the following documentation along with your application email
(The submission of these documents is compulsory – if any items are missing, your application may be disqualified):

  1. ID document (certified copy)

  2. Matric certificate (certified copy)

  3. Shortened Curriculum Vitae including your contact details (1 page)

  4. Proof of registration at a tertiary institution, indicating your field of study (on the institution's letterhead)

22 January 2025
