ABOUT THE BURSARY PROVIDER – MASTER BUILDERS KZN

Master Builders KwaZulu-Natal is an Employers' Association that represents over 700 members within the building and construction industry. The Association, which is registered under the Labour Relations Act, is tasked with safeguarding its members' interests and offering specialized services to help them effectively run their businesses in KwaZulu-Natal.

The Association offers a broad array of services to its members, including training, consulting on occupational health and safety, legal and contractual assistance, employee benefit schemes, discounts for members, and much more.

ABOUT THE MASTER BUILDERS KZN BURSARY PROGRAMME – FIELDS COVERED

Master Builders KwaZulu-Natal is calling on students to apply for its bursary programme for the 2025 academic year.

The bursaries are available to students living in KwaZulu-Natal, for both undergraduate and postgraduate studies in the Built Environment/Construction field. This includes certificates, diplomas, degrees, and any other qualifications related to the sector as approved by the Bursary Committee.

MORE ABOUT THE MASTER BUILDERS KZN BURSARY PROGRAMME – SELECTION & RENEWAL

The selection process will be based on key criteria, such as financial need, academic performance, and alignment with career-focused study programmes in high demand within the building sector.

The bursaries are granted for one year of study at a time and are renewable annually, contingent on the recipient's satisfactory academic progress.

Successful candidates will be notified by the latest on 28 February 2025. If you have not received any communication by this date, please consider your application unsuccessful.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE MASTER BUILDERS KZN BURSARY

To apply, candidates must meet the following minimum criteria (failure to meet all requirements will result in the application not being considered):

• You must be a South African citizen.

• You must reside in the KwaZulu-Natal province.

• You must be currently in Matric or have completed Matric.

• You must be studying or planning to study full-time for a qualification in the Built Environment sector.

• You must be studying or have been accepted to study at a registered South African institution.

• You must have a strong academic track record.

• You must demonstrate financial need.

 

HOW TO APPLY FOR THE MASTER BUILDERS KZN BURSARY

Submit clear copies of the following required documents together with your online application (these documents are mandatory – your application will be disregarded if any items are missing):

• Certified copy of your ID document

• Certified copy of your latest Matric results if you are currently in Matric

• Certified copy of your Matric certificate if you have completed Matric

• Certified copy of your full academic record if you are currently studying

• Certified copy of proof of your highest qualification achieved

• Proof of acceptance to a tertiary institution

• For postgraduate students: certified copy of your undergraduate academic record

• Invoice or quotation for your study programme fees on the tertiary institution’s letterhead

• A motivational letter written by the student (refer to our tips on writing a motivational letter for your bursary application)

• A recommendation letter to support your application

• Your Curriculum Vitae (CV)

• Proof of household income from your parents or guardians (latest payslips if employed, affidavit if unemployed, proof of grants or pension if applicable, or death certificates if deceased) – certified copy

• Certified copy of proof of your residential address
