The South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) is looking for a highly motivated and efficient individual to manage site security and coordinate safety in line with Occupational Health and Safety regulations at the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden.

🔑 Key Responsibilities:

• 🔐 Oversee site security and manage safety operations
• ⚖️ Coordinate security risk assessments and recommend mitigation measures
• 🚪 Manage access control and security infrastructure
• 🤝 Assist with customer queries on safety and site orientation
• 🏥 Coordinate health and safety management services (SHE)
• 📊 Report on non-compliance and ensure safety practices are followed
• 👮‍♂️ Manage weekend staff and car guards

🎓 Qualifications & Requirements:

• 📜 National Diploma or Advanced Certificate in Security Management (NQF 6) with 4 years’ experience, or a degree (NQF 7) with 2 years’ experience
• 🛡️ PSIRA Grade B Certificate
• 🚗 Valid driver’s license with at least 1 year of practical driving experience
• 💻 Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• 🔍 Strong communication, problem-solving, and report writing skills
• 🔧 Knowledge of security legislation, policies, and procedures
• 🏃‍♂️ Ability to work under pressure and be cost, quality, and safety-conscious
