🎯 Purpose of the Role
The Chief Director: Transformation Programmes provides strategic leadership and oversight for the formulation, implementation, and monitoring of provincial transformation initiatives. This role leads the mainstreaming of social inclusion, gender equity, youth development, disability rights, and support for vulnerable groups across all Gauteng Provincial Government policies and service delivery programs.
📝 Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic leadership in developing, implementing, and evaluating transformation programs focused on gender equality, women's empowerment, youth development, disability mainstreaming, rights of older persons, the LGBTQIA+ community, and military veterans.
Drive the integration of provincial transformation priorities across all Gauteng Provincial Government plans, departmental policies, budgets, and public service delivery frameworks.
Lead research, policy formulation, advocacy, and public awareness campaigns, including provincial commemorative month initiatives, to foster social cohesion and equal opportunities.
Strengthen intergovernmental relations, strategic partnerships, and multi-stakeholder collaboration to drive social inclusion goals.
Oversee the institutionalization of governance mechanisms supporting provincial transformation, including the Provincial Gender-Based Violence Action Plan and initiatives for vulnerable groups.
Direct the human, financial, and operational resources of the Chief Directorate in strict compliance with the PFMA, Public Service Regulations, and organizational objectives.
✅ Job Requirements
An NQF Level 7 qualification in Public Administration, Public Management, Social Sciences, Human Resource Management, Development Studies, or a related field recognized by SAQA. (An NQF Level 8 postgraduate qualification in a related field is an added advantage).
Minimum of 5 years’ experience at a Senior Managerial Level (SMS) in organizational transformation programs, employment equity, diversity management, organizational culture change, gender and disability mainstreaming, and broader social development issues.
Pre-Entry Requirement: Successful completion of the NSG Nyukela Pre-Entry Programme (Certificate for Entry into the SMS) prior to appointment.
Competencies: Executive project management, policy formulation, intergovernmental relations, research and monitoring, financial management under PFMA, public presentation, and strategic advocacy.

Applicants must complete the SMS Pre-Entry Programme offered by the National School of Government (www.thensg.gov.za). Shortlisted candidates will undergo two pre-entry assessments (a practical technical exercise and an integrity assessment) followed by psychometric testing.
