The IDT is a Schedule 2 Public Entity, established as a development management agency. Its primary role is to influence, support and add value to the national agenda. The IDT is mandated to measurably impact on the eradication of poverty and to improve the quality of life of poor, rural and marginalised communities. To assist us in achieving this, we wish to appoint dynamic individuals in the following positions:


PROGRAMME IMPLEMENTATION MANAGER: SOCIAL 

JOB LEVEL: CL 

REGION: EASTERN CAPE 

LOCATION: EAST LONDON 

DURATION: 5 YEAR CONTRACT 

PORTFOLIO: PMSU 

PURPOSE: To plan and manage implementation of multi-sectoral social development projects within the region. 

REPORTING: Programme Manager: Social Development 

 

REQUIREMENTS: Minimum of a Bachelors’ degree in Social Sciences i.e. Development Studies, Development Planning, Community Development, Development Economics, Rural/Regional and Urban Planning, Social Impact Assessment, Agriculture, Sustainable Development and a formal qualification in Programme/Project Management. A formal qualification in Project Management will be an added advantage. Where in possession of a Bachelors’ degree in Social Sciences, a minimum of 10 years working experience in Community/Social and Institutional Development environment. Where in possession of a Postgraduate degree in Social Sciences, a minimum of 6 years working experience in Community/Social and Institutional Development environment. Where in possession of a Postgraduate degree in Social Sciences working experience in Community/Social and institutional Development environment. Where in possession of Postgraduate degree in Social Science, professional registration with the Project Management South Africa (PMSA) or an equivalent Project Management Body such as Project Management Institute, International Institute of Project Management, etc., and a minimum of 3 years working experience in Community/Social and Institutional Development environment.

COMPETENCIES: Project management, Development facilitation, working knowledge of PFMA, Treasury SCM regulation, Occupational Health, Safety, Environment and Quality assurance, community/social development (e.g. Education , Health, Justice, Economics, Environment, Social welfare) knowledge. Community/Social development norms and standards. Community/social development approaches, methodologies and tools.

SKILLS: Intermediate computer skills and proficiency, Analytical and interpretation skills, meticulous, problem solving, effective communication, interpersonal, decision making, proposal and report writing, presentation and negotiation skills. 

 

DUTIES: Project initiation, planning and design, Project implementation management, Project integration and, Client and Stakeholder Management, Project Performance Information Management, Project Closure and Technical Support, Guidance and Advice

PURPOSE: To plan and manage implementation of multi-sectoral social infrastructure projects within the region. 

REPORTING: Programme Manager: Social Infrastructure (Technical) 

 

REQUIREMENTS: Minimum of a National Diploma in Built Environment i.e. Building Architecture, Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering and Construction Management. A formal qualification in Project Management will be an added advantage. Where in possession of a National Diploma in the Built environment, a minimum of 10 years working experience in built environment or where in possession of Bachelor’s degree in built environment, a minimum of 6 years working experience in built environment or where in possession of Bachelor’s degree in built environment and registration with South African Council for Projects and Construction Management Professions (SACPCMP) as PrCM/PrCPM or registration as Built Environment professional i.e. PrQs, PrEng, PrArch, a minimum of 3 years’ experience in built environment.
