    This position is specifically suited to a dynamic person with proven ability to effectively and efficiently manage a client-facing division in an academic library environment.

     

    Working hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 -16:30

     

    Duties:

     

    ·       Overall planning, organising, monitoring and evaluating all borrowing, short loans and interlibrary loan activities and services of the Circulation Division.

    ·       Overall responsible for circulation standards, policies and procedures to ensure quality and uniform service delivery at the SU Library and the branches.

    ·       Human resources management.

    ·       Assuming overall responsibility for an effective and efficient client service through continuous liaising, communicating and marketing initiatives.

    ·       Promoting the Circulation Division, for example its services and the library hours, by various means such as notices, social media and the library webpage.

     


    Required Skills

    • Strong client- and service-oriented skills.
    • Three years' relevant library experience. : 3 to 4 years
    • Excellent interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills.

    Candidate Requirements

    Job Requirements:

     

    ·       Bachelor's degree in Library and Information Science, or a bachelors degree with a postgraduate diploma in Library and Information Science, or an equivalent qualification.

    ·       Three years' relevant library experience.

    ·       Knowledge of the client service environment of an academic library.

    ·       Knowledge of interlibrary loan and document delivery procedures.

    ·       The ability to perform at a middle management level.

    ·       Strong client- and service-oriented skills.

    ·       Excellent interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills.

    ·       A high level of computer proficiency, including sound knowledge of the Windows environment and the Microsoft Office package.
