• Purpose:

  To design and draft computer-aided design (CAD) drawings, modify existing drawings, recommend changes based on their experience, knowledge of the project, meeting all project specifications and formatting to company standards.

   

  Role and Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:

  • Provide detailed drawings to support construction and infrastructure projects.

  • Check tolerances, dimensions, and fabrication feasibility and work with engineers to resolve problems.

  • Document designs and provide associated drawings that meet project specifications.

  • Preparing presentation materials.

  • Review and interpret clients’ specification.

  • Improve and maintain quality assurance processes.

  • Maintain the CAD drawing library.

  • AutoCAD/Inventor drawings to support production, daily requirement.

  • Assistance with setting up programs for production and uploading of programs to the CNC Machines.

  • Technical support on CNC Machines plus dealing with procurement issues and fault finding of error messages.

  • Training of new operators on all CNC machines, as required.

  • Problem solving and remote correspondence with Italy and Germany via support teams.

  • CNC/remote support to Natal Gaskets plus technical support as well as training from time to time.

  • Assist with Xpedite training and implementation plus bench testing in planning.

  • Maintain the CAD drawing library.

Candidate Requirements

Education and Experience:

• Matric with Technical Drawings as a subject.

•        Diploma in drafting or similar.

•      Experience with CAD Software.

•      Knowledge of engineering and construction.

•      Strong communication skills and attention to detail.

• 3-5 Years’ Experience with AutoCAD & Autodesk Inventor Software Very Important.

•  Experience in using Measuring Equipment like Tape Measure/Vernier.

•         Gasket Manufacturing Experience would be beneficial.
