REQUIREMENTS : a three-year degree program in labor relations, BCOM law, or LLB. Experience working in the inspection and enforcement services for two years. a good driver's license. Knowledge of departmental policies and practices, the Labor Relations Act, the Occupational Health and Safety Act, the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act, and the Employment Equity Act. Basic Conditions of Employment Act; Immigration Act. Skills: Interviewing, Presentation, Innovation, Planning, Organization, Leadership, Computer Literacy, Interpersonal, Problem Solving, and Analytical.



DUTIES : to organize and independently carry out substantive inspections to make sure the Basic Conditions of Employment Act is being followed (BCEA). The National Minimum Wage Act and sectoral determination. Plan and carry out impartial investigations on situations involving reported violations of BCEA, SD, and NMWA & Regulations, and enforce as and when necessary. Independently, develop and carry out a structured advocacy strategy for BCEA, SD, and NMWA; analyze the results; and then combine and create a report. Participate more actively in the creation, execution, and maintenance of regional inspection plans.
