REQUIREMENTS : Labor Relations/Labor Law/LLB/BCOM LAW: Three (3) year National Diploma (NQF 6) or Undergraduate Bachelor Degree (NQF 7) a current driver's license Experience working in the Inspection and Enforcement Services for two years. Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the following laws and regulations: the Employment Services Act, the Labour Relations Act, the Basic Conditions of Employment Act, the Occupational Health and Safety Act, COIDA, SABS Codes, the Unemployment Insurance Act, the UI Contribution Act, the Employment Equity Act, and the Immigration Act. Interpersonal, Conflict management, Negotiation, Problem solving, Interviewing, Presentation, Innovative, Analytical, Monitoring, Evaluation, Performance Management, and Communication skills are among the facilitation skills.
DUTIES : To ensure compliance with some labor laws, such as the Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA) and the Labour Relations Act, plan and independently carry out substantive inspections (LRA). Plan and carry out independent investigations into reported instances of labor law violations, and where required, enforce the law. This includes getting ready for and presenting as a State witness in court. Plan, budget for, and carry out proactive (Blitz) inspections on a regular basis to check for compliance with Lour Law, as well as compile and consolidate reports resulting from such inspections. Regularly engage in advocacy campaigns for labor laws. oversee the completion of case files that were received and investigations that were done by the Inspectors. Participate at the management level in the design, writing, and upkeep of regional inspection plans and reports, as well as in the execution of statistical analysis and compilation on regional and assigned cases.
