The Assistant Brand Manager is responsible for assisting the Brand Manager with ensuring that the Clientèle brand has credibility and equity across all communication platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Requirements:
- Assist with the development of marketing strategies aligned to business objectives – set broad strategic objectives and define success measures across all products and brands that are underwritten by Clientèle (excluding IFA).
- Assist with assessing all advertising material in line with business objectives ATL, BTL, Digital, 3rd Party (Affiliates) prior to final review and sign-off by the Brand Manager.
- Ensure that the necessary approvals are obtained from the relevant stakeholders for all creative and communication.
- Assist with competitor reviews and benchmarks by providing input which will drive product/campaign innovation in collaboration with Product & Marketing teams.
- Assist with mapping the client journey and evaluating product offerings to ensure value for clients and shareholders.
- Assist with supporting strategic initiatives of new distribution channels (Online, Broker and Agency) with relevant marketing material.
- Assist with the compilation of the Direct Marketing communication strategy as well as the drafting of copy for the channels.
- Recommend Brand initiatives that will drive an increase in leads and contribute towards an enhanced brand image.
- Assist the CSI team with marketing and brand support to amplify their activities where necessary.
- Assist the Digital manager with new campaigns / activations and review all digital content include website, mobisite and App.
Operational Requirements:
- Assist with compiling creative briefs for marketing materials/campaigns and assist with managing all processes to ensure timeous delivery of advertising material to the relevant media platforms.
- Assist with monitoring competitor activity (on-going), this includes new product enhancements and compile a quarterly analysis. Findings and recommendations will be presented to various internal stakeholders.
- Monitor and analyse market and research trends for insights.
- Exploring and research ways of improving existing products and services and increasing profitability.
- Assist with ensuring brand communication aligned to CI.
- Assist with compiling minutes for the Marketing Committee quarterly meetings.
- Assist with reviewing external proposals.
- Assist with internal campaign launches: provide unique concepts, draft internal communication and drive the launch logistics.
- Traffic/manage internal Brand requests: i.e. for in-App copy, App copy updates, website and general to ensure that deadlines are communicated to the stakeholders and that the work is delivered on time by the brand team.
- Assist with supporting the Agency/broker and other distribution channels with creative concepts and relevant marketing material.
Client Communication:
- Assist the Brand Manager with ensuring that the Client Communication objectives are adhered to as well as to support various departments to improve client communication through communication reviews, process alignment and improvement.
- Assist the Brand Manager with ensuring that all communication aligns to Treating Customers Well.
Operational requirements:
- Assist with reviewing and approving all client communication in conjunction with the Communications Team.
- Assist with managing the communication through the Client Lifecycle process.
- Assist with monitor the costs of client communication to the business – marketing costs, reputational costs, attrition costs.
- Assist with supporting Client Touchpoint initiative to assess the efficiency and efficacy of client communication (Telesales / Client Service / Billings /Claims).
Project Management:
- Assist with supporting business initiatives from a marketing perspective;
- New products;
- New processes / platforms;
- New distribution channels;
- Assist with implementing rate increase changes across all channels and platforms and the communication to clients.
Minimum Requirements:
- Completed a Marketing qualification (BComm, BA Communication or IMM)
- At least 5 years' Marketing and Brand Management experience within a marketing team
- Proficient in brand building, campaign development and management across all media platforms including PR, Internal Communication and Direct marketing
- Above average copy writing skills required
- Previous experience within the Insurance sector an advantage
- Proficient on MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Social media experience an advantage
- Communications and research experience an advantage
- Must be comfortable presenting to an audience.
