🎯 Purpose of the Role

Westfalia Marketing, based in Tzaneen, Limpopo, is seeking a skilled Accountant to support the Head of Business Partnering Commercial. The role involves managing monthly accounts, reconciliations, variance analysis, audits, and banking functions.

📝 Key Responsibilities

• Prepare journals for management accounts (income statement, provisions, accruals, stock, intercompany transactions)

• Compile management account disclosures

• Perform reconciliations to ensure completeness of the income statement

• Investigate and provide feedback on budget/estimate discrepancies

• Assist in monthly variance analysis (actual vs. budget, prior year, estimates)

• Complete D365 vs. Palbroker reconciliations

• Handle STATSSA reporting

• Assist in annual budget preparation

• Compile financial audit files (interim and annual)

• Prepare income statement sections for audit packs and tax packs

• Ensure VAT declarations and compliance with SARS requirements

• Forecast foreign exchange inflows weekly

• Support cashflow forecasting for year ahead

• Facilitate BBBEE audit process

• Assist with annual financial statement audits, APAC audits, and tax audits

🎓 Education & Experience

Qualifications:

• Matric Certificate

• BCom degree in Accounting or Bookkeeping (essential)

Experience:

• 3–5 years as a bookkeeper or accountant in a medium to large company

• Agricultural industry experience (advantageous)

• Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs)

• Full finance function up to trial balance

• Experience with banking, debtors, creditors, SARS compliance, management accounts, and cashflow management

• Audit file preparation and support for SARS audits
