A leading manufacturing and recycling company is seeking a skilled Operations Manager to join their team at the GP East facility in Johannesburg. This role requires a results-driven leader with strong knowledge of recycling processes, operational efficiency, and compliance management.
As the Operations Manager, you will oversee daily operations, drive process improvements, and ensure productivity, safety, and profitability across all departments.
Key Responsibilities
Direct and manage daily operations, including processing, baling, and shipping.
Monitor KPIs and operational performance; analyse data to implement improvements.
Manage budgets, cost controls, and allocate resources effectively.
Collaborate with Finance, Sales, and leadership teams to align operations with company objectives.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives and oversee strategic projects.
Lead, mentor, and evaluate Branch Managers and teams for optimal performance.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Manage equipment maintenance, preventative schedules, and operational readiness.
Optimize production flow, identify bottlenecks, and streamline processes.
Coordinate logistics, suppliers, and inventory for smooth operations.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Operations, Manufacturing, or related field (management certification advantageous).
5–7 years’ management experience in recycling, waste management, or manufacturing.
Strong knowledge of recycling processes, materials (plastics, paper, metals), and industry trends.
Proven skills in financial management, cost analysis, and budgeting.
Demonstrated leadership, communication, and team development skills.
Proficiency in inventory management systems and MS Office Suite.
Own transport required.
