🎯 Purpose of the Role
The Administrative Officer: Immovable Assets Register assists in maintaining, updating, and verifying the provincial government’s state property database, ensuring compliance with GIAMA (Government Immovable Asset Management Act), supporting property valuation reviews, and preparing financial reporting inputs.
📝 Key Responsibilities
Immovable Asset Register Maintenance: Update property records based on condition assessments, acquisitions, land disposals, and ownership updates.
Financial & Lease Alignment: Extract and analyze property asset data for Annual Financial Statements (AFS), validate asset valuations, and verify alignment between active lease contracts and register entries.
Physical Verification & Systems Support: Conduct physical site verifications of provincial land and building assets, implement software updates, perform data backups, and report technical system issues.
Component Administrative Services: Facilitate procurement of goods and services, manage office inventory, process quotation forms, and maintain component records.
Resource & Team Management: Supervise, appraise, and train direct reports under the Performance Management and Development System (PMDS), manage leave, and ensure effective equipment utilization.
✅ Job Requirements
Grade 12 / Matric Certificate.
An NQF Level 6 qualification as recognized by SAQA in Real Estate, BSc Property Studies, or Property Valuation.
Minimum of two (2) years’ relevant experience in a property management or property valuation environment.
A valid driver’s license (except for persons with disabilities).
Legislative & Technical Knowledge: Knowledge of GIAMA (Government Immovable Asset Management Act 19 of 2007), Spatial Planning and Land Use Management Act (SPLUMA), Provincial Land Administration Act, PFMA, and property valuation principles.
Generic Competencies: Financial management, strategic capability, decision-making, planning and organizing, computer skills, and staff supervision.
