🎯 Purpose of the Role
The Personnel Practitioner provides key human resource administration and operations support, overseeing recruitment processes, service benefits, leave administration, terminations, and employee records within the department.
📝 Key Responsibilities
Draft job advertisements and coordinate the advertising of vacant and funded positions.
Facilitate recruitment activities, including drafting selection memos, offer/regret letters, scheduling shortlisting, and coordinating interviews.
Conduct personnel suitability checks and compile mandates for appointments, promotions, transfers, and terminations.
Administer employee service benefits, long service awards, and resettlement logistics.
Manage leave administration: assist lower-level staff with SAP leave capturing, verify interfaced leave on PERSAL, and perform leave audits.
Capture new appointments and exit terminations on SAP, and prepare PILIR applications for the Health Risk Manager.
Coordinate exit procedures, complete benefit/termination documentation, conduct exit interviews, and submit pension applications to the GEPF.
Maintain comprehensive HR records, draft monthly reporting statistics, and contribute inputs for annual/quarterly reports and HR planning.
✅ Job Requirements
Matric plus a National Diploma (NQF Level 6) or Degree (NQF Level 7) in Human Resource Management, Industrial Psychology, Public Administration, or an equivalent SAQA-recognized qualification.
1–2 years of experience in Human Resource Management.
A valid driver’s license.
Knowledge: PERSAL/SAP HR systems, Public Service Regulations, Public Service Act, Employment Equity Act, BCEA, LRA, PFMA, PAIA, and Batho Pele principles.
Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, MS Office proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), problem-solving, report writing, presentation skills, time management, and organizing.
