An excellent opportunity has become available to join a leader within the Construction Services industry, as a Financial Manager. The role is based in the Pretoria area.
Manage the company accounting function by:
· Maintaining the accounting records of the Company
· Reconciling all company bank accounts and regional petty cash
· Preparing and managing the company audit process
· Complying with statutory requirements
· Submitting statutory returns as required
· Ensuring that creditors and debtors are maintained
· Ensuring the accuracy of the general ledger
· Drafting management accounts to balance sheet
· Opening company bank accounts
· Ensuring that the company bank accounts are funded
· Co- authorizing of payments
· Ensuring that the insurance schedule is updated
· Generating invoices and monthly statements
· Ensuring that the cash book is managed
· Posting entries on the Pastel Accounting System
· Passing journal entries
· Maintaining specifications of reports on Patel
· Controlling the chart of accounts on Patel
· Drawing reports from Pastel
Provide project finance support to operations by:
· Opening new project bank accounts and closing same
· Providing access and authorization on project bank accounts to staff and contractors
· Co-authorizing draw downs and payments
· Reconciliation of accounts
Manage the company budget by:
· Determining and managing the budget timetable
· Obtaining the output and expenditure budgets from regions
· Consolidating all budgets
· Ensuring that internal controls on expenditure and income are implemented
· Preparing variance reports
· Maintaining the company fixed asset register
· Obtaining quotations, placing orders and making payments to suppliers for Capex, overhead expenses, stationary, rental and other accounts for all regions
Provide financial reports by:
· Producing monthly management accounts
· Producing reliable financial reports
· Ensuring the content and validity of all reports
· Presenting the audited accounts and other financial reports
Liaise with external parties by
· Responding to all queries e.g. auditors
· Maintaining a relationship with banks
· Liaison with creditors, debtors and external parties
Manage and develop staff by:
· Motivating staff
· Develop and encouraging teamwork and learning
· Fostering an environment of co-operation, communication and customer service
Required Skills
- financial management : 7 to 8 years
Candidate Requirements
· Financial degree B.Com
· Financial management experience (7 years)
· Sound knowledge of the Microsoft office package (Word, Excel etc.) with Pastel Accounting System
