INTERNAL / EXTERNAL VACANCY

IVANPLATS (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of Ivanhoe Mines, is advancing the development of its world-class palladium-rhodium-nickel-copper-gold project in the Limpopo Province near Mokopane. This unique mineral deposit will be exploited using large mechanised state-of-the-art underground mining methods, deploying the latest technology to develop this "mine of the future". Suitably qualified and experienced candidates are invited to apply for the following vacancies required for the project development.

Electrician x 2

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES)

Demonstrate the knowledge relating: The legal and specified requirements pertaining to MHSACT on safety and responsibility of employees, Hazard Identification & Risk assessment and the consequences of not adhering to the above; Demonstrate technical competency in electrical faultfinding, Inspections, and use of various electrical tools for the day-to-day maintenance requirements.

Preparation for tasks: Perform Risk assessment before any task, ensuring correct measuring and electrical test equipment are in working order before any task; Maintain safety and health precautions towards self and others.

Performance of tasks: Ensure correct work procedure is followed; Ensure correct use of equipment and tools; And ensuring that equipment is rendered safe to use or work on; And ensuring that all electrical equipment is maintained in line with the section's production targets

Completion of duties: Test and confirm that all electrical equipment is handed back to operations in safe condition and all identified problems are addressed with the aim to avoid or minimize comebacks.

Compile and submit inspection reports

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:

NTC 3 with at least 4 trade related subjects passed or equivalent NQF technical qualification

Trade test as qualified Electrician

EXPERIENCE:

• 2-3 years post trade test qualified Electrician

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Maintenance of all electrical installations, which falls under the responsibility of Mining Equipment Maintenance.

BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES

Must be a mature self-motivated and well-disciplined individual

Demonstrate Hand-eye Coordination, Balance, and physical strength

Balance including promoting a high safety standard

Stress tolerance and Promote a high safety standard
