POST 05/31 : PROGRAM OFFICER (ASSISTANT DIRECTOR)

REF NO: DBE/04/2023 (12 Month Contract with an option to renew) G2G Project implemented by the Department of Basic Education

SALARY : R491 403 per annum (Level 10)

CENTRE : Pretoria



REQUIREMENTS : Candidates must hold a three-year relevant (NQF level 6) post-matriculation degree or an equivalent qualification in education (a relevant postgraduate qualification will be an added advantage) three years' worth of relevant assistance with the implementation of training programs; having experience running important capacity-building sessions; a comprehension of how the NGO environment interacts with South African government operations; an awareness of the numerous child safety laws, as well as the current education and school health regulations; abilities in facilitating and training; good inter-personal, networking, and computer abilities; good verbal and written communication skills; the capacity to implement a framework for monitoring; the capacity to solve issues on one's own; coordination skills for stakeholder groupings; the capacity to communicate with representatives of the Circuit and/or district levels of government and significant players in the field; the capacity to function both individually and in a group; the capacity to work outside of core business hours; Energy and creativity are crucial; a current driver's license and the desire to travel widely.



DUTIES : The selected schools' Government to Government (G2G) activities will be coordinated and carried out with assistance from the successful candidate from Johannesburg South District; lead appropriate interactions with school administration, School Governing Body (SGB) members, parents, provincial, and district representatives, and assist in building strong service referrals between health, education, and social welfare services to promote the vigorous implementation of CSE in the schools of the Johannesburg Region; promote the attainment of results at the school level and keep an eye on it; coordinating teacher and Learner Support Attainment (LSA) training; Support the strengthening of SBST's functionality; Coordinate and assist the distribution of social and health services in schools; assist the Johannesburg region's efforts to establish peer education; compile and monitor reports; collaborate with other members of the G2G team at the federal, provincial, district, and educational levels, especially those with reporting and learner support experience; collect information at the school level; collaborate with school administration, instructors of life orientation, and learner support personnel; Attend meetings the Department's specifications, and enable the reporting of work linked to LSA. Inform the Department of Basic Education (DBE) and the Provincial Office in Pretoria.

NOTE : All shortlisted candidates may be expected to demonstrate their skills in a short task as part of the interview and will be subjected to a security clearance.
