INTERNAL / EXTERNAL VACANCY

IVANPLATS (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of Ivanhoe Mines, is advancing the development of its world-class palladium-rhodium-nickel-copper-gold project in the Limpopo Province near Mokopane. This unique mineral deposit will be exploited using large mechanised state-of-the-art underground mining methods, deploying the latest technology to develop this "mine of the future". Suitably qualified and experienced candidates are invited to apply for the following vacancies required for the project development.

Concrete Laboratory Technician x 3

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES):

Lab Technicians are responsible for receiving: testing; analysing; recording and reporting results of

their tests.

Receiving; labelling and safely storing samples to be tested.

Determining and performing tests needed for the analysis and report.

Discussing and answering any questions regarding the results.

Organizing and storing samples in accordance with all safety and other requirements to ensure the

safety of personnel and integrity of the sample.

Cleaning and maintaining lab equipment's; including recalibration of equipment's.

Maintaining equipment's records and daily work logs.

Staying current on technical and scientific advances in their field.

Recording tests and analyses and reporting the results.

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Lab Technician education and training requirements initially will accept and associate degree or

certificate. Some states require Lab Technicians to be licensed, which involves the required degree

or certification, understand, and know how to use the computerized and other automated equipment's

necessary for the testing and analysis of samples.

EXPERIENCE:

Employers generally prioritize people who possess good critical thinking skills and good hand-eye

coordination over experience.

Lab technicians must be team payers able to work as part of a team as well as with people outside

their normal work area. Employers also look for people who are detail-oriented; focused and who

follow procedures.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Willing to work continuous operation shifts and overtime as and when required

Must be medically fit and willing or able to work on extreme heights.

Good problem-solving abilities

Must be a mature self-motivated and well-disciplined individual
